Energy management for Africa
Regarding the implementation of energy management Africa is interested in:
A. Efficient energy management carried out by using the components of energy systems including:
- sensor systems, actuators, control devices, information systems for monitoring energy flows (e.g. electricity, heat, gas, coolness)
- actuators (e.g. switching devices, valves, adjustable devices)
- energy resources (e.g. photovoltaic systems, solar panels, wind power, CHP)
- active users, which can be influenced (e.g. electric vehicles, heating and cooling systems, air conditioning, other devices, which usage can be shifted in a way that does not reduce the quality of life and efficiency of the technological process)
- energy storage
- software solutions for mobile and web applications
- ICT solutions including interfaces and communications between devices in smart grids
- geographical information systems.
B. Energy management includes also:
- supervisory and protection devices
- control with continuous optimization of system operation
- intelligent decision-making
- security of energy supply, forecasting, resilience
- identification of the potential development of new services and products based on structured analysis of collected data
- Optimization of energy infrastructure of smart cities. This takes into account economic systems of other smart cities and communities, market analyses and financial effects.
